Automatic Q&P Barrel Bunging System
Awarded as a TECHNICAL INNOVATION at ENOMAQ 2023, the automatic Q&P bunging system is a machine designed to facilitate the task of removing and inserting barrel bungs, automating the processes in the chain and substantially reducing the time required to clean and treat barrels, helping to improve the competitive standing of wineries.
It consists of an automatic pneumatic bunging system with a two-gripper design and 180-degree bung rotation mechanism which allow barrel bungs to be removed and inserted with minimal effort using a fully-automated process. The system includes a tray that contains a disinfectant solution in which the removed bungs are placed, before replacing them after disinfection to seal the barrels that have already been treated and filled.
Manufactured according to the client’s needs, it integrates fully into the winery’s washing and sanitising line.
