The company EQUIPAMIENTOS INDUSTRIALES, S.A. was started in 1981 as a clearly family business with the goal of creating new applications in the field of high pressure water cleaning in Spain and to carry out important evolutions in the already existing applications.
The activity of our company initially focused on sales and repair of the EKINSA brand of a wide range of hydrocleaners and cleaning related services, but important ideas soon arose to adapt this machinery to innovative applications.
Thanks to the restlessness of the company's founders, manufacturing began of a new type of machinery for cleaning the interior of barrels used in wine production. From here arose the so-called barrel washers, flagship of the company throughout its trajectory.
The principal idea of the barrel washers is a multi-directional rotation system that shoots water at a high pressure produced by the hydrocleaners, in such a way that it reaches each and every of the internal points of the barrel with enough pressure and volume to eliminate all existing residues that negatively alter the properties of the wine produced.
This new machinery soon achieved great acceptance by the wine producing sector that saw in these products two enormous advantages for its activity compared with the traditional methods: One the one hand it performed a much more effective and thorough cleaning of the barrel and, at the same time, the new barrel cleaners meant a tremendous saving of time and effort in this cleaning.
PROGRESS
Parallel to the interest of the wine producers in our innovative machinery, new ideas and needs arose, as the large Spanish wineries required higher performance machinery that made possible the cleaning of a large quantity of barrels in a short time.
Thus arose new models of barrel washers that preserved the same cleaning system and incorporated new hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical elements that provided a greater degree of automation.
Likewise, new elements were incorporated in our machines with functions complementary to barrel cleaning, like for example barrel filling and emptying systems, external brushing, ...
Following the commercialization of the new models, the main innovators of the company did not cease, with the start product of the company emerging, the “AUTOMATIC BARREL WASHING TRAINS” with which was completed with a wide range of products with capacity from 10 up to more than 70,000 barrels.
The washing train is a continuous line which, combining the hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical elements previously mentioned and adding very advanced electrical features like automatons or touch screens has filled the great requirements of the wine-producers.
The washing trains currently manufactured by EKINSA are able to load, empty, inject steam, wash, brush, sulfurize, fill and unload up to 35-40 barrels per hour completely automatically being operated by a single person with the help of another when loading and unloading the barrels using a forklift.

Since its first steps, EKINSA has had loyal customers such as Bodegas Vega Sicilia, Marqués de Riscal, Osborne, Miguel Torres, Federico Paternina, Freixenet, Codorniú, Julián Chivite, Grupo Arco, Bodegas Faustino, Bodegas LAN, Bodegas AGE, Grupo J. García Carrión, González Byass, Bodegas Berberana, and a long etcetera of prestigious vineyards renowned for their good work and quality wines.
PRESENT AND FUTURE
The main and nearest goal marked by our company is to open our borders so that other countries learn about our products and make the most of its enormous advantages. Thus, EKINSA takes part in the most important sales meetings in different places like Milan (Italy), Bordeaux (France), Mendoza (Argentina), Santiago de Chile (CHILE), California (USA). In 2003, 25% of our machinery production was for exportation.
Currently, EKINSA has more than 34 workers that make up different areas such as design and manufacturing, technical service, distribution, quality, marketing... Likewise, our company has two direct sales offices in Seville and Bordeaux (France) and official distributors in the following countries: France, Portugal, Italy, Hungary, Israel, Greece, South Africa, Chile, Argentina and the United States. With customer satisfaction of main objective, our company has marked quality as one of the pillars and trademarks of the company. A good example of this is the ISO 9001:2000 quality certificate that has been granted recently that includes the areas of design, manufacturing, and technical assistance of cleaning machinery with high pressure water.
As for our products, apart from machinery for vineyards, today there are different applications for our cleaning systems. The most important is the manufacturing of automatic washing trains for tanks and large liquid containers.
